More than 20 thousand unregistered workers were identified

Members of the Social Security Auditors Association came together for iftar in Ankara. Social Security Institution (SGK) Vice Presidents, general managers and deputy general managers, department heads, provincial directors, academicians and business people attended the program.
Mustafa Şahin, Chairman of the Social Security Auditors Association, stated that they continue their duties with determination despite all kinds of risks and difficulties in the field, and emphasized that the audit system will be much more effective and efficient by organizing social security auditors as group presidencies affiliated with the SSI Central organization. He noted that, as an association, they made an intense effort to implement the audit system proposal they submitted to the SSI and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Şahin said that 101 thousand 794 workplaces were inspected as a result of the examinations, investigations, audits and inspections carried out by social security inspectors in 2023. Şahin stated that 20 thousand 811 unregistered employees, 2 thousand 264 foreign national employees and 1533 fake workplaces were detected during the inspections. Stating that 5 thousand 570 work accidents and occupational diseases were examined, 2 thousand 418 people were found to be living with their divorced spouses and their income/monthly salaries were cut off, Şahin stated that a total administrative fine of 1 billion 263 million 159 thousand 40 TL was recommended.
