Joined on Monday by their colleagues in charge of cleaning the metro, they have been on strike since last Friday for non-payment of wages in the face of silent management.
“What we have come to denounce today are serious facts”, begins on the picket line, Kamel Djeffel, union representative of the Autonomous Confederation of Labor (CAT) of the station. Since June, a hundred employees have not received, or only partially, their salary.
“In reality, we don’t even know what we’re getting,” points out one of them, responsible for cleaning the Marseille metro since 2013. “The situation became problematic when the management changed, there was two years, ”he continues, saying that he has not received a pay slip since.
A complaint
With damning Laser Propreté audio recordings, Kamel Djeffel points to fraudulent practices. The employees filed a complaint on Tuesday with the public prosecutor for “tax evasion, false declaration, abuse of corporate assets and health insurance scam”.
And the union secretary accuses “the management of encouraging the oldest employees, representing the highest salaries, to take sick leave to pay less social charges and then to declare more agents than there are. in the subways and at the station. While proceeding to “unjustified layoffs, nearly forty in recent months”. In short, “a disguised social economic plan”, laments Houria Tahri, elected CSE Solidaire.
If the employees have so far provided “minimum service” in the station and the metro, aware “that the state of the Marseille station is a shame in the eyes of the world”, they intend to amplify the movement. And call on the Métropole, the RTM and the SNCF, customers of the service provider, to react. The latter have not yet responded to our requests, nor have the management of the company and its director, Philippe Lasery.
