Product recall: be careful if you bought these chicken legs sold at Lidl, they are contaminated with Listeria

The government website Consumption reminder announced this Friday March 29 that Label Rouge white free-range chicken thighs sold in 550 g trays are being recalled throughout France, and particularly in the west of France. These products, sold in more than fifty Lidl stores, were contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, the agent responsible for listeriosis. Health authorities are asking customers not to eat them.
These thighs from the Étal du Poulier brand were sold between March 8 and 20 in several Lidl stores. But other distributors would also be affected for similar products from other brands, adds the government site. The list of stores in which these products were for sale is available here. In total, three batches are affected by this recall and all have the FR 53.121.001 CE health mark.
Headaches and body aches
If you have already eaten this product and you feel a fever, accompanied by headache, and aches or pains, it is necessary to consult a doctor and report this consumption. According to Rappel Conso, listeriosis can manifest itself in serious forms with neurological complications. In pregnant women, maternal or fetal damage can also occur, indicates RMC.
“Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks. Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms,” the site adds.
Additionally, if by chance you have not yet consumed these chicken thighs, it is recommended that you destroy the product and go to your local store for a refund.
