“I am happy to open this swearing-in ceremony, for you who have passed the recruitment tests for the Services-Mail-Parcels branch,” introduced Ludivine Liottet, director of the establishment.
Each postal worker, whatever their function and status, by joining the company, must in fact commit, through the taking of an oath, which is obligatory, to respect the ethics and professional conduct of La Poste. The company is particularly committed to maintaining this tradition which reaffirms its essential values and contributes to strengthening the trust placed in it by its customers.
Trust, a cardinal value
Julien Decouteix, operational director, recalled the commitments and missions of La Poste. “The taking of this professional oath, enshrined in the law of August 29, 1790, is not just an administrative formality. The commitment you are going to make is the founding act of your life as a postal worker. »
The current terms of the oath formula are professional secrecy, the obligation of inviolability of correspondence including electronic ones, the duty of honesty and probity, respect for others and the protection of La Poste’s assets. “This commitment aims to maintain the trust of our customers and our employees, because trust is a cardinal value for La Poste. When a postal worker takes an oath, the entire Post Office gives its word,” insisted Julien Decouteix.
24 letter carriers recruited in 2023
After reading the articles of the Penal Code, each postal worker took the oath individually. For Betty, temporary postwoman since September 2022, this job is a real priesthood. “With this permanent contract, I am realizing what I like: contact with people, working outdoors, flexible hours and the good atmosphere in the team.” Same motivation for Djabir who joined the company eight months ago. Mohamed, for his part, joined La Poste in 2018, and distributed advertising. Since November 2023, it has been delivering and collecting parcels, a service dedicated to businesses.
According to company officials, the postman is one of the French’s favorite public service professionals. A major provider of jobs, the Perrigny Monts et montagne hub has recruited 24 letter carriers in 2023.
For 2024, a call for applications for 15 additional jobs has been launched. In figures: the Perrigny Monts et montagne establishment has 10 sites, 328 agents and carries out 135 tours. 1,600,000 packages delivered per year; 21,691 services provided, 106,494 homes served 6 days a week.
