Nicolas Cottier, oenologist from the Sainte-Marie estate, offered these prestigious visitors a truly refined meal to discover Savagnin. This sensory journey from fruity Savagnin to mysterious vin jaune took place in English. In addition to Nicolas Cottier’s interactive “wine show”, Pierre-Antoine Doré, sales director, participated in the entertainment.
The food and wine pairings were developed with the help of Florian Devaux, chef of the Bletterans station Bistrot. Visitors are won over by these alliances which allow them to amaze their senses. A highlight was the tasting of a vin jaune from 2011, 10 years old in barrels: “A very fine wine with great aromatic complexity”, for Karsten Thurfjell; which Nicolas Cottier confirms: “A vintage much appreciated by great connoisseurs”.

Bertrand de Sainte-Marie, one of the estate’s partners, explains: “For certain countries, the importation of wine is a state monopoly. This is the case in Sweden, where wine is sold in a state store. Mikaël Mölstad indicates: “Despite the monopoly, Sweden is very open to the world wine market.” And Bertrand de Sainte-Marie confirms: “The Swedes love Jura wines. They are in 4th position among countries importing Jura wines after the United Kingdom, the United States and Norway. The journey of these journalists then continued in other houses in the Jura, notably at Tissot or at the Château d’Arlay, before they headed off this weekend to Beaujolais.
