Flag traders fear loss for withdrawing ‘Bila’ from PTI

With the withdrawal of the bat symbol from Tehreek-e-Insaaf, traders who manufacture and sell flags of political parties are worried about heavy losses.

Talking to the Arab media, the chief executive officer of a major flag-making company in the country said that we always have a stock of party flags, we have flags of almost all political parties ready.

He said that we have about 50,000 PTI flags with the party’s election symbol ‘cricket bat’ on them and if the party does not get relief from the Supreme Court, we will suffer financial loss.

Talking to Arab Media (Arab News), he said that we have prepared the flags of 3 major political parties, People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and PTI. There will be loss.

A flag seller said that we have stocked PTI flags of different sizes and if they are not given the electoral symbol of bat, we will have to suffer.

Another flag seller said that some traders stock more than 1 lakh PTI flags with the election symbol cricket bat.

According to traders, the price of a flag ranges between Rs 10 and Rs 500, while the price of a flag made on special requests is much higher.

It should be remembered that in the last month of last year, the election symbol of bat was withdrawn from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and in this regard, a 5-member commission headed by the Chief Election Commissioner gave a decision.

Later this month, the Peshawar High Court also withdrew the injunction in the intra-party election of Tehreek-e-Insaf and the bat mark case and accepted the supplementary petitions filed by the Election Commission in this regard.

It should be noted that PTI has approached the Supreme Court to get the election symbol of bat.

Tehreek-e-Insaf’s application has also been numbered, Supreme Court Registrar’s Office has numbered the bat mark application as C.P7/2024.

Tehreek-e-Insaf has filed an appeal against the decision of the Peshawar High Court.
