Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost. The future plastic recycling plant selected among the France 2030 winners

Polyethylene terephthalate. Two obscure words to designate the plastic in our bottles. A chemical recycling plant for this material (also called PET) will see the light of day in the town of Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost within a few years and it has already been selected among the list of winners of the France 2030 label. And for cause: the factory will be the only one, the first in the world, to use this innovative chemical recycling technology. It will be located on the current Toray Films Europe site, without artificialization of natural spaces.
30,000 tonnes per year
This new industrial unit will produce no less than 30,000 tonnes per year of chemically recycled PET. This project will contribute both to French sovereignty in terms of raw materials, but also to the growth of the circular economy of plastics in France and around the world.
A wide spectrum of plastic waste can now be recycled into high-quality transparent material, usable for all types of applications, including food contact.
The France 2030 plan allows twelve companies to benefit from financial support of nearly €100 million, making it possible to generate more than €200 million in private investments in ecology.
